AMD, which is challenging NVIDIA's dominance in the global AI semiconductor market, is drawing significant attention. Ahead of its second-quarter earnings report scheduled for August 5, AMD's stock price is steadily rising.

Once a pursuer of Intel—the world's largest semiconductor brand that previously monopolized the CPU market—AMD now shares the x86 architecture CPU market with Intel.

AMD's current target is NVIDIA, which has become the darling of the AI semiconductor sector due to the explosive growth of generative AI.

Interestingly, AMD's relationship with NVIDIA in the GPU market mirrors its relationship with Intel. In both markets, AMD is a formidable second-place player.

While NVIDIA has seen rapid growth over the past two years, AMD's position has relatively weakened. However, as AMD strengthens its competitive product roadmap, it is expected to gradually capture market share from NVIDIA. This is anticipated to be reflected in the upcoming earnings report next month.
