CyberPowerPC has just announced that it will raise prices for memory modules in the United States and the United Kingdom. According to the company’s statement, although memory and SSD prices have been rising since October 2025, this round of price adjustments will not take effect until December this year.

CyberPowerPC assured customers that this is only a temporary adjustment and that prices will be lowered once costs fall. However, the company expects the trend to continue into 2026, noting that memory prices have recently surged by 500% and SSD prices have risen by 100%.

This is undoubtedly bad news for the market, especially with the holiday season approaching when many people upgrade their systems or buy new PCs. Unfortunately, CyberPowerPC is not the only company suffering from DRAM and NAND flash shortages caused by surging AI demand. Some Japanese stores began restricting memory module sales as early as the beginning of November, while Taiwanese distributors have forced buyers to purchase DRAM together with motherboards.

Western retailers are also starting to feel the impact of these price increases. Micro Center has begun removing price tags from memory kits, and some stores have even switched from fixed pricing to spot pricing. Even Framework, known for its modular laptops and mini PCs, has stopped selling standalone memory to prevent scalpers from profiteiting. The situation has become so dire that a 64GB DDR5 memory kit now costs almost as much as a PS5 Pro.
