Intel Arc | Faster Transcoding With Intel Deep Link | Intel Graphics

Intel has discontinued support for its Deep Link technology suite, as confirmed by a representative on GitHub via X user Haze.

Following Intel’s quiet cessation of promoting the feature in new products like Battlemage, the company has now confirmed that active development of Deep Link has stopped.

While you can still use Deep Link, Intel has clarified that no future updates will be provided, and its customer service channels will not offer official support.

Deep Link was launched in late 2020.

It allows you to fully utilize the power of Intel CPU and Arc GPU, enhancing streaming playback, AI acceleration, and overall efficiency.

To use Deep Link, you need an Intel 11th, 12th, or 13th Gen CPU and a dedicated Arc Alchemist GPU.

The suite offers four key utilities: Dynamic Power Share, Stream Assist, Hyper Encode, and Hyper Compute.

Dynamic Power Share optimizes performance and power consumption by intelligently allocating power resources between the CPU and GPU.

Stream Assist improves streaming by offloading tasks from the dedicated GPU to the integrated GPU. Hyper Encode uses multiple Intel processors to accelerate video encoding.

Lastly, Hyper Compute leverages your Intel CPU and GPU to accelerate AI workloads in OpenVINO.

“Deep Link is no longer actively maintained and will not receive future updates, meaning its functionality will remain unchanged regardless of its current state,” the Intel representative on GitHub stated.
